Self taught, Colorado painter Andrea Lee Trujillo paints vivid, provocative and emotionally charged acrylic’s of the human figure. In her newest work she captured the subtle gesture of body language that transmits sensuality. Her paintings create an intimate communication with the admirer.

Artist's Statement

I have enjoyed creating art since childhood. I knew that I was going to be an artist. I have been creating art in various forms throughout my life, working in airbrush, mixed media and large wall murals, always having a powerful need to make art.

 I work mainly from photographs, using them as a guide. Then move on to paint, building layers of color to shadow dark areas and highlight other areas. There is that fulfillment when completing a painting or returning to my studio the next day seeing the piece with a fresh      new perspective. I catch myself staring at it over and over with pure joy because I know I have created art.

 I live in art, always observing life and nature, drinking in shapes and colors, constantly thinking of how to communicate my artistic vision. I  have always felt that I own the gift of creativity and able to use my hands and heart to share it with the world.
